Privacy Notice

Unleaser is an early UNR pilot that helps students offering a lease takeover connect with students looking for semester housing. This notice explains what information the pilot collects and how it is used.

Information we collect

When you submit a listing or housing request, we may collect your name, email address, university, property name, rent, housing dates, budget, room or housing preferences, listing photos, and information you choose to include in free-text fields. We also store the specific listing you expressed interest in when applicable.

How we use it

We use submitted information to operate the UNR pilot, publish approved listing details, review potential matches, contact participants, introduce matched students, moderate listings, prevent abuse, and improve Unleaser.

What is public

Approved listings may publicly display property name, rent, dates, room details, photos and other non-contact listing information. Names and email addresses are not included in the public listing feed. Contact information may be shared with another participant after a potential match is reviewed so the participants can coordinate.

AI assistant

If you use the Unleaser AI assistant, the messages you send may be processed by OpenAI to generate a response. Do not include passwords, payment information, government identification numbers, or other highly sensitive information in the chat. The assistant is for general informational support and may make mistakes.

Service providers

The pilot uses infrastructure providers including Vercel for hosting, Supabase for database and image storage, and OpenAI for the optional AI assistant. These providers may process information on Unleaser's behalf to provide those services. Unleaser does not sell participant information and, at this pilot stage, does not use third-party advertising trackers.

Retention and deletion

We retain pilot submissions while they are reasonably needed to operate and evaluate Unleaser. You may ask us to correct or delete your submitted information. We may retain limited records when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, dispute handling, or legal obligations.

Your choices

You may request access, correction or deletion of information you submitted, or ask that a listing be removed. For a privacy request, reply to a Unleaser pilot email you have received and identify the submission concerned. We may need to verify that the request comes from the relevant participant.

Third-party property processes

Unleaser does not control a landlord or property manager's privacy practices. If you proceed with a takeover, the property may collect additional information under its own policies.

Changes

If this notice changes materially during the pilot, we will update the effective date and make the revised notice available on the site. Where appropriate, we may also notify active participants directly.
